We have three great camps to choose from!
Jazz Camp
Overview: Jazz Camp is a unique opportunity for students to enhance their enjoyment and understanding of America’s Classical music. Jazz, through the participation in jazz ensemble rehearsals, jazz related skill building, and listening sessions with professional instructors specializing in the art form.
Activities: Jazz Ensembles rehearsals, Master Classes, Improvisation, Jazz History, Jazz Theory and Jazz Combos for advanced students.
Recommended age: students entering grades 8-12, including current year high school graduates, with a minimum of two years experience and play one of the following instruments: alto, tenor or baritone saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar, piano, electric or upright bass or drums.
Limited Enrollment: Based on instrumentation, first-come, first-serve basis with full tuition payment
Band/Percussion Camp
Overview: Band/Percussion Camp is a summertime opportunity for students to increase their enjoyment and understanding of music through the participation in regular rehearsals, instrumental skill building, and listening sessions with professional band instructors. Percussion Camp runs concurrently with Band Camp.
Activities: Band rehearsals, Master Classes, Listening Sessions, Music Theory, Ear Training, Brass and Woodwind Ensembles for advanced students. Younger students welcome upon approval by the Band/Percussion Camp directors.
Recommended Ages: students entering grades 7-12, including current year high school graduates, with a minimum of one year playing experience and play a traditional band instrument. (No strings.)
Leadership Camp
Overview: Leadership Camp was created to show and teach students the skills required for a leadership role in their individual band programs. These skills will continue to benefit them after high school.
Activities: Marching Basics, Conducting, Teaching Techniques, Communication Skills, Team Building Exercises.
Recommended Ages:
students entering grades 9-12, including current high school graduates.

The Palm Beach County Band Camp’s goal is to provide a summertime opportunity for students to continue to develop musically as well as promote their enjoyment and understanding of music through the participation in regular rehearsals, master classes, listening sessions, and music theory, ear training, and private lessons with professional instructors.

David Gibble
Artistic Director (co-founder)
David Gibble recently retired from Palm Beach State College where he taught from 1995-2024. During his tenure as Professor of Music at PBSC, he directed the Concert Band, Tuesday Nite Big Band, 12 O¹clock Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combos, Brass Ensemble, and Trumpet Ensemble. Also, during his time at Palm Beach State, he was and continues to be an in-demand clinician for both middle and high school bands and jazz ensembles throughout the tri-county area.
As a trumpeter, he freelances all over South Florida in classical, contemporary, and jazz styles appearing with groups ranging from the Charlie Callelo Big Band to the Orchid City Brass Band and Palm Beach Opera Orchestra. He was an origina member of the Jazz Rats Big Band and Rattette (10-piece group), the resident bands at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, for 20 years. Additionally, he has performed with the Woody Herman Orchestra, Duffy Jackson’s Swingin’ New Band, the Jaco Pastorius Big Band, the Capitol Bones Big Band, the Florida Wind Symphony Big Band, Urban Gypsy, as well with his own small groups, including the Palm Beach State College Faculty Jazztet.

Nick Patsis
Business Manager (co-founder)
Nick Patsis (Trumpet) has been an active music educator in the Palm Beach County schools for over thirty years. He received a Master of Arts in Teaching from Florida Atlantic University, a Bachelor of Music Education from Florida State University, and an Associates of Arts in Music from Palm Beach Community College. Mr. Patsis began his teaching career at Jupiter High School, where he served as Interim Band Director for a semester. In 1978, he accepted the position of Director of Bands at Congress Community Middle School, where he taught until 1987. In the fall of 1987, Mr. Patsis became the Director of Bands at Christa McAuliffe Middle School till he retired in 2019 after 42 years teaching in Palm Beach County.
Mr. Patsis is the Co-Director of the Palm Beach County Band Camps, which he co-founded in 2001. While a full-time music educator, he maintains an active career as a freelance trumpet player. He has performed with Palm Beach Opera, Palm Beach Symphony, Orchid City Brass Band, Orchestra Delray, Florida Wind Symphony, Burt Reynolds Dinner Theater, Jupiter Theater, Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus, Holiday on Ice, The Boca Pops, and numerous other professional and community organizations.
